
Dr. Jennifer Ratner PT, DPT, MS, OCS
Jennifer, owner of Ratner Center for Physical Therapy and Wellness, was born and raised here in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended Paschal High School and went on to attend the University of Arizona obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in 1995. Her passion for physical therapy started while in college where she volunteered in a physical therapy clinic, and she hasn’t looked back since. To further her education and fuel her love for the profession, Jennifer went on to receive her post graduate degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 1999, a Post-Professional Master of Science from Texas Women’s University in 2007 and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Drexel University in 2009. She became a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2006 and re-certified her Orthopedic Board Certification in 2016.
As the physical therapy world is consistently evolving, Jennifer knows that to best serve her patients she must evolve right along with it. She has continued her education throughout the years by completing numerous courses in manual therapy, kinesiotaping, vestibular rehabilitation as well as becoming an ASTYM certified provider.
Aside from Jen’s long list of physical therapy knowledge and education, she genuinely has a love and passion for helping others overcome obstacles. Her passion to make a difference in the lives of her patients is felt all throughout the clinic and exemplified by the work that she performs and the results she obtains. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters, along with golfing, traveling, scuba diving, water skiing, snow skiing and relaxing on the beach.

Christina Bearden PT, MS
Clinical Director
Christina received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Midwestern State University in 2002. After working for a family and caring for their daughter with a debilitating genetic disorder while she was in college, she developed a passion for helping others and decided to pursue a career in physical therapy. She attended Texas Woman’s University in Dallas and received her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 2004. Christina has been an outpatient orthopedic therapist since graduation. She has continued to further her knowledge by taking many courses in manual therapy through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy as well as taking courses in Vestibular Rehabilitation and Kinesiotaping. She is passionate about helping her patients reach their goals by addressing the entire patient and challenging them to succeed in all aspects of their health.

Dr. Kate Bergsma PT, DPT
Kate received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy from Grand Canyon University in 2017. She then earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from California State University, Long Beach in 2020. Kate has always had a strong desire and passion to help people and assist them in living more fulfilling lives, which is why she decided to become a physical therapist. Kate has continued to grow her knowledge for her patients by becoming certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and enjoys utilizing this treatment approach when applicable. Kate loves connecting with her patients, getting to know what is important to them and their therapy goals, and creating an individualized and specific treatment plan and approach to help them get there.
Kate enjoys her free time outside of the clinic and loves playing volleyball, spending time with family and friends, shopping, exploring new restaurants in the Fort Worth area, and playing with her golden retriever, Duncan.

Lisa Mocek PT
Lisa, a native of Fort Worth, has been a practicing physical therapist for the past 17 years. She attended Texas Tech University and graduated from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio in 2004 with her Master of Physical Therapy. She has worked in outpatient and home health settings. Lisa is dedicated to continuing her education of evidence-based practice to provide her patients with current, compassionate, and individualized patient care to help them achieve their goals.
Lisa is married and has two daughters and a dog. She enjoys traveling, cooking, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.

Pam Tucker PT
Pam grew up in Mineral Wells, TX and graduated with a biology degree from Stephen F Austin. She attended The University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas where she received her degree in physical therapy. She has worked in several different types of settings over the years, including acute care, home health, and outpatient physical therapy.
She is married and has two young adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, fishing and watching college football on Saturdays.

Chaylon Fisher DPT
Chaylon received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2019. He then earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2022 from Texas State University in Round Rock. The majority of Chaylon's experience is in the general outpatient orthopedic setting and has worked with a wide variety of people and diagnoses, with a particular interest in chronic pain. He is committed to ongoing education and staying up to date with the most relevant treatment strategies that will help his patients reach their own personal goals. He plans to pursue further studies in areas such as dry needling and chronic pain education to name a few. His own goal with each patient is to get them comfortable with their own bodies again, to encourage them to keep moving, to make them laugh, and to give the credit of all healing that happens to God.
Outside the clinic Chaylon enjoys going to church with family and friends, bike rides, going on walks with his dog Shadow, and nerding-out about the Marvel universe and Star Wars.

Krista Madrid DPT
Krista attended the University of Notre Dame before transferring to Franciscan University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Exercise Science in 2018. Originally from Fort Worth, Krista moved back to Texas and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UT Southwestern in 2021. She is passionate about providing patients an environment that generates enthusiasm and instills confidence towards meeting their health goals and improving their quality of life. Having been a collegiate cheerleader at the University of Notre Dame and working in the training room at Franciscan University, Krista takes a special interest in exercise prescription and finding ways for patients to stay active while their body is healing from surgery or an injury. Krista plans to grow her knowledge by becoming Trigger Point Dry Needling certified and earning her Certified Strength and Conditioning specialist credential. In her free time, Krista enjoys exploring Fort Worth with her family and friends, spending time with her dog, Marla, and traveling.

Tucker Swanson DPT
Tucker received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from The University of Mississippi in 2017. He attended Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona and received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2022. Tucker's interest in physical therapy started from a young age, after rehabbing a shoulder injury from playing baseball when he was 14. Ever since that experience he developed a fascination with biomechanics and optimizing range of motion and strength. Most of his experience is in the general outpatient setting with a particular interest in providing the highest quality exercise prescription for each individual patient. He plans to pursue further education in dry needling and to attain his certification in strength and conditioning to further improve his ability to prescribe exercise to patients. It is important for Tucker to connect with his patients and build an individual plan to meet their specific goals. In his free time Tucker loves to hike, lift weights, watch Ole Miss football, train for triathlons, and spend time with family.

Rachel Fair DPT
Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University in 2017. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in Austin, TX, in 2020. Rachel enjoys helping all people and diagnoses, with most of her experience in the general outpatient and home health settings. She understands there is no one-size-fits-all treatment, so she will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan to get you back to doing what you love the most. Rachel is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and will utilize this treatment approach if appropriate. Rachel enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, reading, and working out in her garage gym in her free time!

Shelly Layton PTA
Shelly has been practicing as a physical therapist assistant since May 2005, when she received her Associate Degree for Aapplied Science from Tarrant County College. She has been an outpatient orthopedic therapist for the past 13 years and went on to further her education in 2013 by becoming an ASTYM certified provider where she makes a tremendous impact helping patients regenerate soft tissues and remove unwanted scar tissue that may contribute to pain or movement dysfunctions. She loves her job as a PTA and helping her patients reach their goals and maximum potential. Shelly is married and has 2 beautiful daughters. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family and friends, RV camping, playing soccer and being a mother.

Dan Teekel PTA
Dan’s interest in physical therapy came as the result of three bulging discs in his neck along with the debilitating pain and weakness that followed. Determined to avoid surgery at all costs, he spent hours each day stretching strengthening and researching as much as possible to figure out the best non-surgical road to recovery. As a personal trainer living in the Middle East for 5 years, he began to incorporate what he learned during his own recovery into his clients’ sessions. This led to serving individuals with disabilities in remote desert villages with training to increase strength, function and independence. Fourteen years after earning a Bachelor of Science Dan returned to school in pursuit of an Associate of Applied Science at Weatherford college to become a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Dan and his wife have been married for 20+ years and have three teenagers. He enjoys ninja warrior training and playing bass and percussion at their church. He is passionate about acquiring new knowledge and skills to help his patients.

Janet Powell
Rehabilitation Technician
Janet has been in the medical field since the early 1980’s and decided to further her knowledge in natural healing by graduating in 1995 from the Institute of Natural Healing Sciences with a specialty in massage therapy. She has completed and taken various advanced courses in Reflexology, Ayurvedic, Sports and Deep Tissue massage. In 2009 she decided to transition into the physical therapy as a rehabilitation technician.
“One of the reasons that I enjoy working with patients is knowing that I can help them have a more enjoyable time in therapy and help them reach their goals. Sometimes therapy can be tough but a smiling face, good attitude and someone they can trust goes a long way in their recovery.”
In her spare time, Janet enjoys spending time with family and friends and her two dogs Luna and Osito. She also enjoys restoring her 1970 VW Bug (2FAROUT) and riding around town like no one is watching!

Jeromy Simmons
Rehabilitation Technician
Jeromy has more than 10 years of experience as a physical therapy Rehabilitation Technician where he has assisted the therapist in providing physical therapy treatments. He has an amazing ability to connect with patients and provide excellent care. He loves to help patients improve their strength and mobility to help return them to life. Jeromy has continued his education by taking pre-requisites for school to become a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
Jeromy enjoys time spent with family and friends, traveling, listening to music, attending concerts and movies and trying new foods at different restaurants.

Hanniyah Roberson
Rehabilitation Technician
Hanniyah was born in Houston, Texas and later moved to Fort Worth, Texas at age 5. She attended North Crowley High School and went on to attend Alcorn State University obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in pre-physical therapy.
Her passion began after an injury that sent her to physical therapy. She forged a relationship with her physical therapist and from that experience, her desire to help others developed. After shadowing physical therapists at various inpatient and outpatient clinics, Hanniyah decided to further her career in physical therapy and is currently in the application process to obtain a doctorate in physical therapy. She recognizes the importance of connecting with patients and making physical therapy a positive experience. She always strives to make sure patients feel at home while in the clinic. Outside of the clinic, Hanniyah is a volunteer coach for a local youth track team and continues to consult with college students who operate the mentoring program she co-founded at Alcorn State University. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, creating makeup looks for her clients and staying active by running and playing volleyball.

Max
Rehabilitation Technician
Maxwell Araneo was born and raised in Port Chester, New York. He graduated from Port Chester High School in 2018 and attended a local college in hopes of receiving a degree in Engineering. However, after working as a Physical Therapy Technician in New York for over a year, he realized his true calling. Max got to experience the joy of interacting with patients on a personal level. As well as aiding patients through any ailment they might have to return to their normal ways of life. He strives to make a patients road to recovery as enjoyable and as efficient as possible. Max achieves all of this through being extremely kind and compassionate towards patients, and understanding of their goals through therapy. He believes there is no better feeling than a patient’s appreciation towards him once they are fully recovered. Because of all of this, Max has decided to further his career in physical therapy, and will attend school to become a physical therapy assistant. He has recently moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 2022 where he will live out his dream of working in this field, all while enjoying everything this great city has to offer. Outside of the clinic, Max enjoys all types of sports and frequently plays them with friends, as well as staying active by going to the gym.

Hannah Snell

Hannah Snell grew up in Crowley, TX and graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Kinesiology. Growing up, she became passionate about serving others through mission trips and decided healthcare was was the field she wanted to pursue. After researching physical therapy, she knew she found her fit! Throughout college, she observed physical therapy within a variety of clinics and learned about the importance of rehabilitation. Within her classes, she became passionate about the human body and continues to learn more and more each day. Currently, she is in the process of furthering her education to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. She loves building relationships with patients and seeing how physical therapy has changed their lives for the better. She hopes to be a light to others and spread positivity with each person she encounters.
In her free time, Hannah likes to hang out with friends and enjoy the outdoors with activities like fishing or hiking! She loves exploring nature, going to the beach and traveling.

Jordan Cooksey
Rehabilitation Technician
Jordan was born and raised in Burleson, Texas. She attended Burleson High School and went on to attend Texas Wesleyan University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Her passion to become an Orthopedic Physician Assistant forged after an injury that sent her through multiple sessions of physical therapy and surgeries. Her experience is what developed her desire to help other people. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer and being with friends and family.

Liza Fowler
Office Manager
Liza is a Fort Worth native who has been in the customer service industry for more than 38 years and specifically healthcare industry for over 14 years. She makes taking care of patients a priority and is passionate about helping patients move through the physical therapy process with ease from their first call to the clinic to seeing the patient reach their goals. Liza believes every patient has a story to tell and enjoys hearing the stories of our patients and getting to know them. Her infectious laughter is often heard throughout the clinic and is uplifting to those around her.
When not working, she loves spending time with her husband of 36 years, her family, friends, and traveling to see her two children. She enjoys photography, gardening, traveling and reading.

Raquel Caro
Patient Care Coordinator
Raquel was born and raised in Fort Worth. She has worked in the medical field for 20 years within the field of physical therapy and pediatrics. One of the reasons she enjoys working with the patients is that the patients become like family. She loves helping patients and seeing their end results from a positive experience. Her infectious laughter and sense of humor keeps everyone on their toes!
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. Also, she enjoys movies, crossword puzzles, traveling, concerts, and spending time with her dogs.

Abigail Bersosa
Patient Care Coordinator
Abi is a native of Texas. She graduated from South Grand Prairie High school. Lives with her mom and sisters.
I enjoy working for Ratner for the opportunity they offered to help in my training in the health care field. I want to become a physical therapist and help others with their physical therapy needs.
When Abi is not working, she enjoys working out, trying to restaurants and loves to paint.

Mallorie McCarty
Patient Care Coordinator
Mallorie was born and raised in Tyler, Texas. She attended Robert E. Lee High School and went on to attend Texas Tech University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in kinesiology with a minor in biology. Mallorie loves being involved in healthcare due to being able to meet new people every day. Mallorie's priority is to ensure that each patient that walks into the office feels welcomed and valued as they begin their physical therapy treatment.
When not working, Mallorie loves cooking, taking her dog to the park, and spending time with her friends and family.

Sherrie Dalby
Billing Specialist
Sherrie was raised and has lived most of her life in Joshua, Texas. She has been in the healthcare field for nearly twenty years, graduating from American Technical Institute in 2001 with a Medical Assistant degree for both front and back office. For the last eight years, Sherrie has worked in billing and insurance collections in the physical therapy field. She finds fulfillment in making sure that patients get the most out of their insurance coverage and also helping them to understand their policy as clearly as possible.
Sherrie has always loved the outdoors, spending most of her childhood summers roaming her family’s ranch in Oklahoma; fishing, hiking, target practicing, and riding ATVs. She has three sons to whom she has passed down her love of outdoors, travel, animals and music, but what Sherrie loves most of all is being a mother.

Parris Schoppa CSCS
Head Fitness Specialist and Wellness Coordinator
Parris Schoppa, CSCS, is a passionate fitness specialist who takes a holistic approach to each individual’s workout regimen. Coming from an athletic background as a TCU swimmer and 2012 Olympic trials qualifier, Parris knows that it takes a village to stay healthy, strong and active. Taking pride in implementing a safe workout environment for a broad range of clients, Parris is consistently consulting with the physical therapists on ailments that affect her clients. Along with creating safe workouts, Parris’s clients will be the first to tell you that they have never had the same workout twice. She believes in keeping it fun and fresh while still being effective.
Along with fitness, Parris is extremely passionate about nutrition and is currently pursuing a degree as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, adding yet another degree of health and wellness to our space. In her spare time, Parris enjoys traveling, riding horses, swimming laps and cooking for her friends and family.

Kacie Brann
Fitness Specialist
Kacie, CPT, received her bachelor's in kinesiology from the University of North Texas in 2016. Kacie has an athletic background, playing 2 years of softball in college. Kacie has been in and out of physical therapy clinics growing up playing softball and knows the importance of continuing your physical therapy after discharge. Kacie works with the physical therapist to help give her clients the best care in a fun and safe environment!
Kacie is also in school to become a Physical therapy Assistant. In her spare time, when she's not studying, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, take her dogs on hikes and compete in Brazilian jiu jitsu.
